(vat/casks) dark red robe. The nose is crunched in on itself, with smoke-filled licorice and blueberry fruit on the counter. The palate reflects the nose faithfully, with a rocky set of tannin prominent in its red fruits flavour. Has a good, bracing style, and will settle well. There is a good note of iodine, a bonny detail, on the aftertaste. A wine of character and style. 14°. 4,000 b. €6.70 export. From mid-2018. 2025-27 May 2016

healthy dark red robe. The nose shows reduction, so decant this. There is a sweet centre of raspberry fruit with a note of pork scratchings. The palate is tightly bound with kirsch, cooked plum fruit at its heart. It comes across as rather arm’s length wine, not really personal. 14°. 4,000 b. €6.70. From 2017. 2022-23 May 2016 Previously Apr 2015 ***(*) (vat/casks) dark robe; has a big, generous cassis-led nose, a real display of jelly-like sweet appeal – it is very much in its first, fruit-only, phase. The palate is a gourmand affair, lined with fluid, nicely copious black berry fruit, and well textured, smooth tannins. Open, cards on the table, sunny wine. 14°. 4,000 b. €6.65 export. From spring 2016. 2021-22 Apr 2015

dark red. Minty, nutty airs surround a black berry aroma that also carries damp, earthy notes. The palate delivers a firm black fruiting with crisp, rather punchy tannins, and creates interest thanks to its open drive. Swings away on the finish. Set to show well from spring 2016, can be drunk on its youthful vigour. 13.5°. 4,000 b. €6.65 export.  2021-22  Apr 2015
