(vat) dark red colour. The nose is rounded, with airs of black cherry in easy profile. A low-key licorice and a biscuity angle are also evident. The palate gives a peppery, fresh dark fruit and supple content through to the finish, where there is a saline touch that leaves it fresh. Good, on the fruit and easy drinking Côtes. 13.5°. 70% Gren, 30% Syr. GB £7.99. To 2018  Oct 2015

(vat) shiny dark red with purple and black tints. The nose has a fresh run, carries open blackberry fruit, light touch herbs, licorice, a note of cold tea and black raisin. The attack is pretty succulent, then quietens and firms up. It has nutty tannin at the end, a toffee flavour there. The main fruit taste suggests blueberry. It is a bit pumped up, but will give good drinking when young. 14°. To 2017. €6.50, 35,000 b this year. May 2013

plum red, some depth. Has a subdued blackberry air, has not yet spread its wings, but there is quiet quality in the fruit. The palate has a smoothly textured attack, its blackberry flavour fused with nutty, grainy notes, licorice. The tannins are not quite ready yet. Sound structure here. 14°. 2016.  April 2012

full, dark robe. Varied nose – chalky, limestone airs, red cherry and tobacco. Good round take-off to the palate, and then a generous run through the mid to late stages. Attractive tannins and length on this, with an appealing, fresh, coffee flavour tinged exit. Nicely persistent. To 2014. April 2011
