2017

(casks, bottling Apr 2018) bold dark red, good lustre in the robe. Has an elder-blackberry aroma, comes with a belle curve, garrigue-herbs present, floral touches; it has raciness, go. The attack is nicely broad, fine red fruits content well placed; the tannins are helpful for an extra couch of depth. Good length, also potential here. The tannins show the sun concentration of the dry vintage. From 2019. 2025-26 Feb 2018

2015 ()

dark, sustained colour, a really full robe. The nose is a broad landscape of smoky bacon, black berry fruits with some sweet herbs attached. It delivers freely. The palate rocks and rolls with a live surge of good intensity black fruit and tasty tannins poised to become involved towards the finish. It’s long and satisfying, with violets and an airborne scenting late on, well mixed into its neat ball of juice. High quality Côtes, closer to Vinsobres than Côtes, off we go. 13.5°. 12,000 b. €8.40 export. 90% Syr, 10% Gren this year. 2021-22 June 2016

2012 ()

handsome black robe, a purple rim. Here we go: has a good, brimming bouquet that shows black cherry, a deep cassis de Dijon liqueur or coulis, also drifts of scent, much abundance here. There is a shade of reduction from its Syrah (tasted blind), and can be decanted. The palate proffers a striking combination of fluid, gras fruit and elegance, depth, covering much territory. It is a pleasure and a full mouthful at the same time, while its tannins are greatly elegant. It is a delight to encounter this wine; its plentiful fruit really spreads widely, has lots of black cherry with some darker, chocolate and violet moments towards the finish. Excellent: it can be drunk to gorge on its early generosity, and is helped by the lower degree of 2012 so its earth-derived power is infused. 13.5°. 12,000 b this year. €7.95 export. 2019-20  Oct 2013

2011 ()

(cask, bottling next month, Apr 2012) dark red robe, black tints, nice and clear. Has a shiny black fruit air with pockets of dust and powder, and violet ahead of licorice. Nice spread across the attack here – this holds good core black fruit with a little squeeze in its texture, before it widens and firms up. Interesting wine. I would drink from spring 2013. 14°. 2008

full, bright robe. Compact, well-filled, reductive nose – there is nice curve in the red fruit, has a violet air and compares to a southern Saint-Joseph Syrah. Engaging, clean-cut black fruit leads the palate, with pepper and road tar present. The fruit is very clear. This is sympa, a w.o.w. wine. “Little alcohol and no tannin in 2008,” Michèle Aubery. 13°. 2006

inviting scarlet red robe. Peppery, jaunty top air to the bouquet, with a suggestion of fine red cherry fruit and baked bread within, has a very suave interior: it is young and ready. The palate's red fruit is restrained and fine – it has a little juiciness, presents a mild, implicit power. Runs clearly, flags late power which accords with its name. This is very easy to drink, thanks to its relaxed fruit and texture, its fruit being so clear and beau, plus the local kick on the aftertaste. w.o.w. wine – very good “buvabilité”. 14°. 2012-13 Nov 2009
