dark, shiny robe; has an alert, sunswept bouquet that gives violets, ripe black fruit such as blackberry, licorice. The palate is expressive, immediate, its gras well founded, carries well. This is get up and go Cornas, one that will be popular in Paris. There are fine tannins in a shapely close. It can drink now, is engaging, fun Cornas. It’s just about ****. 13.5°. Bottled amount has risen this year from 300-500 b to 2,660 b. Bottled three days ago. From spring 2021 in an ideal world. 2035-37 Dec 2019

bright, appealing red robe. The bouquet bears a soft aroma, stewed fruits, black cherries, is rounded, gives an elegant start. There’s a little reduction. The palate is restrained – this is sleek style Cornas, plump n’easy, takes on a little tannin and increased depth before the finish, shows oak there. Raspberry fruit is present. It has a hint of freshness, is an aromatic, very much modern school Cornas, the aromatic side in keeping with its Chaillot origin. Decanting advised. 13°. 2030-32 Dec 2018
