60% Grenache, 40% Syrah (vines early 1980s) from clay-limestone soils, destemmed, 3 week vinification, pumping overs, raised concrete & steel vat 15 months, unfined, filtered, organic wine


plum red robe, past its first brilliance. This has a good bouquet that assembles stewed black fruits, a rather rich thickness in them, along with spice and reduction, the reduction a bit of a distraction. The palate has a chalky thread, a fresh theme, along its path, gives a red-fruited, snappy drink, with a finish on minted clarity. It’s a genuine Ventoux with some ground force, and local style. It’s ready now; allow to air. There are salted late moments. 13°. To 2019 Nov 2017
