dark red colour. The nose is deep, set in with beef stock, and a close-knit aroma of black berries. It is a hunky start. The palate is dark from the presence of Syrah, holds firm matter, and goes long, is good and consistent through its route. The tannins are well polished. Upright wine that will become shapely, and one that will impress. Gren, Syr, Mourv, Cins. 14°. 60,000 b, bottled already. €5.10. Cairanne cru, not Villages. From late 2018. 2027-28 May 2016

2014 ()

(the final blend, vat, bottling Sept 2015) dark robe. Has a nicely swirling nose with neat features – it gives attractive black fruit, a little sizzled beef steak, a hint of violet. The palate presents enjoyable crunchy fruit, lengthens well, has some still crisp tannins. Very dentelle, lifted wine that displays good clarity as it ends and a hum of floral appeal. Tasty, clear wine that is full of beans. From spring 2016. 2020-21  Apr 2015

shiny, handsome dark red. Has a soft, coulis-style black berry fruit aroma with grace in it – a calm ensemble here, a well-judged depth in the nose. The palate holds round, pretty fresh fruit, moves along with a little tannin pick-up towards the finish. A straightforward Cairanne. The length is decent, there is a gain of tarry depth. From spring 2014. 14°. 2017-18  Oct 2013

good, dark robe. Modern cellar approach black cherry air, a liqueur of black cherry, with a darkness of aroma around it, grilling. The palate offers similar cherry fruit with a baked bread element; it hasn’t really got the local vibe, and sits on the fence, is respectable, safe Cairanne, its juice present most of the way. It could be more close-up and personal. 14°. €4.90 export. 2018-19  June 2013

bright, dark red; simmered, rather sleek red fruits aroma with a heat coming off them – power, definite intensity, raisin and biscuit, tar and coffee airs. The palate gives smoothly lined red fruits – this is an already supple wine that suggests there is Syrah present, one that flows steadily. The fruit is agreeable – this is a wine to drink now. There is tiny late tannin – a brief pebbly moment. Reliable wine that is best young. 13.5°. 2012-13 Feb 2009
